CPDL at Wrenn
At Wrenn, we invest in a high quality CPDL provision to ensure that every member of staff can reach their full potential, and in turn, provide our students with the very best learning opportunities. Teaching and Learning is our core purpose and therefore investment in this area is prioritised.
Examples of this include:
• Designated time for Subject Specific CPD – ensuring that teachers have the opportunity to develop their subject knowledge with their faculty teams
• Regular whole school staff development and training
• Dedicated time for our internal Middle Leaders – delivered to facilitate personal reflection and support key leadership skills
• 15 Minute Deliberate Practice – weekly morning short, sharp sessions delivered by teachers from across the school allowing for collaborative good practice
• Consideration of career aspirations through performance appraisal and Career Stage Interviews – CPD and facilitated opportunities offered wherever possible

We believe that every member of our school community should be a lifelong learner and we provide a bespoke CPD and support programme to facilitate the delivery of our Quality of Education Framework. This outlines our approach to teaching and learning which underpins our ambitious curriculum.
StepLab
Steplab – Professional Development Tool
As part of our commitment to teacher development, we use Steplab to help our teachers embed evidence-informed practices and improve every day. Steplab provides our teachers with 1000s of evidence-informed teaching techniques broken down into granular staps, in classroom video models showcasing world-class teaching and sharing good practice, comprehensive study modules, and a coaching framework which enables regular, impactful and responsive coaching conversations. To fully support our teachers, we have taken Steplab to the next level and have linked our school specific teaching routines alongside a vast library of our own videos of Wrenn lessons to share best practice. Supporting teachers to be the very best they can be is at the heart of our Wrenn values and so we use Steplab as a tool for lesson drop-ins and shoutouts which has helped us to create a positive teaching and learning culture whereby staff are keen to share best practice with one another.
