Message from the Principal

Laura Parker.

On behalf of all our students and staff, I would like to thank you for taking an interest in Wrenn School and visiting our website.

I am continually in awe of our students. Their hard work and dedication, alongside genuine care, and respect for both each other and the staff body, is what makes Wrenn such a great place to be.

“The school has successfully created a vibrant, inclusive culture where pupils succeed” Ofsted, December 2023.

Wrenn is unique in the fact that we are lucky enough to be a split site school, enabling us to provide a lower and upper school site. Key Stage 3 (Aged 11-14) are entirely based on our Doddington Road site allowing us to ease the transition for students from some of our smaller primary schools. Our Key Stage 4 & 5 students (14-19) are predominantly based on the London Road site. The school has beautiful grounds, and the purpose-built Art, Music, Drama and Design Technology blocks allow students to access the full range of these specialisms. The Wrenn Astro, playing fields, hard play areas and Gyms provide excellent facilities for the multitude of sports which are played across the school.

“Pupils benefit from a plethora of opportunities and clubs which extend beyond the curriculum” Ofsted, December 2023.

At Wrenn school we aim for excellence in all that we do. We invest heavily in the development of our pupils’ and find ways to nurture them both academically and personally. During their time at Wrenn our students thrive, we are proud of the outcomes that they achieve, and we believe that all students can make outstanding progress and experience individual success. Our Sixth form students, student leadership teams and student mentors play an active role within the school, providing a support to peers and the wider community.

“Sixth Formers play a full part in the life of the school’ and ‘The school has successfully created a vibrant, inclusive culture where pupils succeed’ Ofsted, December 2023.

At Wrenn School, we believe in providing the very best care and guidance and our Wrenn values are central to our ethos and culture. For everyone to achieve their best, we have a constant focus on high standards from our students whether in uniform, behaviour, communication, character development, or perseverance. We are relentless in our pursuit of the small things that we believe have a big impact on our school culture, environment, and our students’ attitude to learning and personal development. Our Wrenn Values are at the heart of our school, and we want our students to Work Hard, Respect Others, Enjoy learning, Never give up and to find ways to Navigate their futures.

The foundation of our school community is the excellent relationships between staff, students, families and between students themselves. When you visit our school, you will notice the positivity and mutual respect that is shown to all members of the school community. Our parent forum means our parents and carers can be actively involved in the life of school and help us shape futures. Open communication is key to our success, and you will notice this as you begin interactions with us.

Parents and carers are positive about the school, ‘The staff are amazing, and do a fantastic job of looking after the children and tending to their needs, as well as teaching them and preparing them for the future’ Ofsted, December 2023.
