Moving from primary to secondary is an exciting and significant event. We acknowledge this important milestone and invest a significant amount of time and energy in ensuring that the transition is as smooth and problem free as possible.
We visit all our feeder primary schools on several occasions speaking with students and their class teachers so we know as much as possible about them before they begin with us in September. Specialist staff from Wrenn also meet very early in the process with parents of students with special educational needs, to discuss the provision that will be provided.
The end of October is the deadline for your application to Wrenn School for year 7 the following September. Applications after this date will be classed as late and will fall under the County Council’s allocation procedures. Students to Wrenn are admitted without reference to ability, aptitude or culture.
Applications via Northamptonshire County Council can be accessed here.
Transport and access
Due to the nature of our regular catchment area we only currently operate one bus service to and from Earls Barton (Route 135). However the Academy sites are served by public transport from many outlying areas of the town and surrounding villages. Information regarding public transport in and around Northamptonshire can be viewed at Northamptonshire County Council’s website here.
We also encourage students to access the School via foot and bicycle, where we have secure lockable facilities on both sites.
Calendar of transitional events
For any parents who would like to take a tour of the school or have a meeting with Rebecca Hales (Director of Lower School) or would like to discuss your child’s admission to Wrenn School please contact Mrs Hales on rebecca.hales@wrennschool.org.uk to book an appointment.
We are very excited about our new cohort joining us in September and are looking forward to meeting all our new students within the months of May and June.
